The Lord’s Prayer
line-by-line
with some memorization
picture clues
Our Father who is in Heaven.
Hal-low-ed be your name.
Please note: Hallowed mean HOLY and Worshiping GOD.
Your kingdom COME.
Your will be done
on earth
as it is in Heaven
Give us this day
our daily bread.
And forgive us our tres-pass-es
as we forgive those who tres-pass against us.
Please note: Trespasses means SINS.
Lead us NOT into temp-ta-tion.
And deliver us from EVIL.
For Yours is the Kingdom
And the Power
And the Glory.
Forever. AMEN.
The pastor of our church, West Highlands Baptist Church, in Athens, Alabama, challenged the neighborhood kids who attend our Wednesday night Youth Outreach program to memorize the Lord's Prayer.
He worked with the boys on this. The Discipleship Pastor and I work with the girls. We hold a 10-minute devotion where we cover a weekly Bible story or role-play. That is followed by free pizza, chips, cookies, and drinks for the entire group of 30 to about 45 kids, ages 4 to 16.
Before the 6 PM devotions, and after they finish eating, kids play basketball, soccer, do crafts, do yarn activities in the cooler weather, chat, play games, etc. I sit in the yarn room and work with any kids who want a little help learning the Lord's Prayer, line by line. That includes explaining the meaning of each line.
Today, September 3, 2026, I felt inspired to come up with some illustrations to help people like me who are largely visual learners. We distributed copies of this one-page handout. I've included a button below if you'd like to save a FREE PDF to your cell phone, tablet, or laptop.
God bless you and your loved ones!
