Did you know two letter-E guys from the Bible never died? We heard about one of them last week.
Question: Who was the prophet who went to Heaven in a Chariot of Fire
Answer: Elijah
RINGLEADER: Did God take anybody else in a Chariot of Fire?
Group repeats
Nope. Prophet Elijah was the only one.
The man who saw this happen also has a name that begins with the letter E.
Question: What was his name?
Answer: Elisha.
Next week, we will hear some cool Elisha miracle stories. But for now, let’s turn our attention to the only other letter-E guy in the Bible, who never had to die.
RINGLEADER: What was his name?
Group repeats
I will give you three clues.
RINGLEADER: What is the first clue?
Group repeats
The first clue was that the third son born to Adam and Eve was a man named Seth.
Seth’s great-great-great-grandson was the man who never had to die.
RINGLEADER: Hmm! What is the second clue?
Group repeats
The man who never had to die had a son named Methuselah. He lived longer than any man has ever lived - 969 years.
RINGLEADER: Woe! He almost reached 1000!
Group repeats
RINGLEADER: Give us the last clue!
Group repeats
The man who never died was the great-grandfather of Noah, who built the Ark. This was before the Flood.
Okay, I am out of clues.
Question: What was the name of that man who never died?
Answer: Enoch
RINGLEADER: Why did Enoch earn that reward?
Group repeats
God, would you please tell us what 365-year-old Enoch did to make You decide he did not have to die to get to Heaven.

Father God: I took Enoch away because he pleased Me by walking faithfully with Me. [Genesis 5:24 & Hebrews 11:5]
Father God: I took Enoch away because he pleased Me by walking faithfully with Me. [Genesis 5:24 & Hebrews 11:5]
RINGLEADER: That is so cool! Hooray for Enoch!
Group repeats
So, now we’ve heard about the only two men in the Bible who never had to die.
Let’s talk about one other from the Bible. He did die, but only for three days. His name doesn’t begin with the letter E, but three of His nicknames do.
RINGLEADER: What are 3 of His nicknames?
Group repeats
Everlasting Lord, Elect of God, which means chosen by God, and Eternal, which means He has been around forever. He had no beginning. And He will have no ending.
Question: With those clues, what is His incredible name?
Answer: Jesus.
Jesus came to earth about 2,000 years ago. Even though He is fully God, in fact, we call Him the Son of God, out of pure Love for all of us, He chose to live a 33-year life as a man.
At the end of those 33 years, on a day we call Good Friday, Jesus allowed His body to be tortured, whipped, hung on a Cross, and then die.
Jesus Loves us so much that He died for our sins. He paid the price for all of us who have accepted Jesus as our Lord, our Savior, and our King of all kings.
Jesus spent 3 days in a tomb. Then, early on Sunday morning, on the day we call Easter, something wonderful happened. The stone rolled away from the tomb door. Why? Because Jesus had returned to life.
RINGLEADER: How many people saw His resurrected body?
Group repeats
Over 500, including most of His Disciples and followers.
As for the rest of us, we who are Christians live in eager anticipation of Jesus returning one fine day. If we had already died, we would rise back to life. If we are alive when He returns, we will be like Enoch and Elijah. We will rise to the sky to spend eternity with Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Savior, and our King of all kings.
RINGLEADER: Hooray for Jesus!
Group repeats
Thank you for taking part in this very cool story!
