Today and next week, we are going to hear more about Adam and Eve. But first, let’s do a brief review.
Last week, you heard the Creation story that came from the first chapter of the first book in the Bible.
What is the first book of the Bible called?
ANSWERS: Genesis
How many days did it take for God to create the earth?
ANSWERS: 6 days plus God rested on the 7th day
FYI – Let’s lay out those 7 days. We are going to make 7 columns of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
By the way, numbers are very important in the Bible.
Does anybody know what the number 7 represents?
ANSWERS: The number 7 represents
COMPLETION. God finished creating the earth in 7 days. You will find the number 7 mentioned over 700 times in the Bible.
Who recalls what the Trinity is?
ANSWERS: God the Father, God the Son aka Jesus, God the Holy Spirit
Our Heavenly Father God loved us so much that He created a number of things to help Adam and Eve, the animals, and all of us to survive and thrive.
What did God create on the 1st of the 7 days?
ANSWERS: Light, Day, Night
What did God create on the 2nd of the 7 days?
ANSWERS: Firmament aka sky
I am guessing that creation included
oxygen and air that allowed Adam and Eve, the animals, and all of us to breathe and grow.
What did God create on the 3rd of 7 days?
ANSWERS: Earth aka Land and Seas
What else did God create on the 3rd day that would provide food for Adam and Eve and all people and all animals?

What did God create on the 5th of 7 days?
ANSWERS: Fish of the Seas and Birds of the Air. In other words, God created all the animals that live in the air and in the water.
What did God create on the 6th of 7 days?
ANSWERS: Livestock, Creepings Things, and Beasts of the Earth. In other words, God created all the animals and people that live on land.
In a bit, we will display some of the animals that fit each category.
What else did God create on the 6th day?
ANSWERS: Man & Woman aka Adam & Eve
Regarding the animals, what power did God give Adam and Eve and all humans yet to be born?
ANSWERS: Humankind had dominion or power or rulership over …
the fish of the seas
the birds of the air
the livestock
the creeping things
and all the beasts of the earth.
Not only that, God did something very special for Adam and Eve, their future children, and all people.
Can I get a volunteer to read Genesis 1:26-27.
Genesis 1:26 (NLT)
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
Genesis 1:27 (NLT)
So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.
Let’s discuss that. What do you think it means?
ANSWERS: Group Discussion
What kind of food did God create for humans and animals to eat?
ANSWERS: FRUIT, HERBS, NUTS, SEEDS, and GRASS. They were all vegetarians.
Two final questions about the Creation story.
After God saw everything that He had created, what did He declare?
ANSWERS: It was very good!
What did God do on the 7th day of Creation?
ANSWERS: God rested on the 7th day. He blessed the 7th day and declared it to be Holy.
FYI - Christians celebrate our holy day on Sunday. By contrast, Jews celebrate their holy day on Saturday.
On the attached pages, you will see some of the animals that fit each category. We will begin with one animal that may really surprise you.
One of the Beasts of the Earth that God created was the Brontosaurus. Although Job, the 18th book of the Bible, uses the word Behemoth
[buh-hee-muhth].
Discuss the animal pairs you see under each category. See the 5 attached pages on pages 8 to 12 on the PDF file download listed below.
