This is the Family Tree of Enoch. This is the Enoch who never had to die. Instead, God took him directly to Heaven when he was 365 years old.

FYI: Please note that if a name-box contains a border around it, that means that Mary, the mother of Jesus, is part of his or her direct line.

FYI: Each of these men had other sons and daughters. The Bible usually only lists one son per each man.

CAIN

Cain, the oldest son of Adam & Eve, had a son named Enoch. This Enoch is not the one who ascended to Heaven. [Source: Genesis 4:17]

FYI - Every one of Cain's descendants died in the Flood that took place 1,656 years after God created Adam & Eve.

SETH

Seth was the third son of Adam & Eve. [Source: Genesis 4:25]

SON OF SETH

Please notice this cool fact about Enosh.

Genesis 4:26 (NLT) 26 When Seth grew up, he had a son and named him Enosh. At that time people first began to worship the Lord by name.

GRANDSON OF SETH

When Enosh grew up, he had a son named Cainan. [Source: Genesis 5:9]

SETH'S GREAT-GRANDSON

When Cainan grew up, he had a son named Mahalaleel. [Source: Genesis 5:12]

SETH'S GREAT-GREAT-GRANDSON

When Mahalaleel grew up, he had a son named Jared. [Source: Genesis 5:15]

SETH'S GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-GRANDSON

When Jared grew up, he had a son named Enoch. [Source: Genesis 5:18]

So, Enoch was Seth's
great-
great-
great-grandson.

Notice this amazing fact about Enoch. It turns out that he is only 1 of 2 men described in the Bible who never had to die to get to Heaven. Prophet Elijah was the other one. [Source for Elijah: 2 Kings 2:1-18] [Source for Enoch: Genesis 5:21-24]

Genesis 5:24 (AMP) 24 And [in reverent fear and obedience] Enoch walked with God; and he was not [found among men], because God took him [away to be home with Him].

SETH'S (4 GREATS)-GRANDSON

When Enoch grew up, he had a son named Methuselah [Source: Genesis 5:21]

A cool fact about Methuselah is that he lived longer than any man has ever lived. He didn't quite make it to 1,000, but he did live 969 years. In fact, he died the same year as Noah's Ark and the Flood.

SETH'S (5 GREATS)-GRANDSON

When Methuselah grew up, he had a son named Lamech. [Source: Genesis 5:25]

FYI - Lamech died 5 years before the Flood.

SETH'S (6 GREATS)-GRANDSON

When Lamech grew up, he had a son named Noah. [Source: Genesis 5:28-29]

This is the very Noah who built the Ark and survived the Flood.

By the time Noah was 500 years old, his wife gave birth to their 3 sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. [Source: Genesis 5:32 & Genesis 6:10]

SETH'S (7 GREATS)-GRANDSON

Shem is the many times over great-grandfather of Mary, the mother of Jesus. As for the rest of us, we are either descended from Shem, Ham, or Japheth.

Shem is also the many times over great-grandfather of Abraham, King David, & King Solomon.
